The Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a mobile crowd-funding app, “BlessMi”, for the Tinubu/Shettima presidential project ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The PCC stated that it hoped to realise N5bn through the platform as the app would allow Nigerians the opportunity to make donations for the support of Tinubu and Shettima to prosecute their campaign activities.

It stated that, “The crowd-funding will reduce the influence of money bags, give more citizens a sense of belonging and deepen democracy in the country.”

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, described the platform as a “creative way” of using technology to democratise funding for political activities, noting that the QR code-enabled platform would offer opportunity to Nigerians supporting APC to be part of the process of forming the next federal government.

Tinubu assured of massive votes in Kogi

He said, “Every little contribution received from the channel would matter in funding the APC’s presidential campaign activities across the federation.”

APC presidential running mate, Kashim Shettima, who spoke on behalf of the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, described Tinubu as an innovative politician with intellectual sophistication and ability to keep promises.

Commending the efforts of the party’s PCC, he said the platform would transfer the ownership of the political movement to the people.

Shettima said, “Prior to our campaign, we had been overwhelmed by supporters looking to contribute their quota and ideas, and now we have a platform to ensure that no one is left out.”
