The senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Jigawa South West in the 2023 general elections, Tijjani Ibrahim, is dead.
He died on Saturday at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja after a protracted illness. He was buried on Sunday according to Islamic rites in Kiyawa, Jigawa State.

The late APC senatorial candidate was a two-term member of the House of Representatives, representing Dutse/Kiyawa federal constituency of Jigawa State
He defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to APC and clinched the ruling party’s senatorial ticket to contest in the 2023 general elections.
Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar and other prominent politicians in the state have condoled the family of the late APC candidate over the death.
The governor, in a statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Public Relations, Habibu Nuhu Kila, described the late Ibrahim as a man of honour, a great leader, and role model, who had sacrificed his life to serve the common man.
“The death of Tijjani Ibrahim has come as a serious shock to me and indeed to the people of Jigawa State.
“Every soul must taste death. Our prayer is always to have a good ending and no doubt our brother has ended well after battling a protracted illness,” the governor said.
