APC Public Relations Officer, Alh Sani Dododo, said their agents must insist on the use of the original sheet, following informations of an alleged attempt to use photocopy in the state.

At Waje town in Danko/ Wasagu Local  Government Area under the Zuru Emirate Council, a Presiding Officer was said to have been whisked away by voters following his inability to account for election result sheets for his PU.

However, the incident could not be verified by our correspondent as at the time of filling this report.

At the Mai-Alelu PU where the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State, Senator Atiku Bagudu was accredited, a party agent told our correspondent that the electoral process at the polling station had been  without hitches.

Others opined that the low turnout may not be unconnected with the general feeling that people already knew the likely outcome of the Governorship and State Assembly polls following the victory of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari.

The Kebbi State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Jibril Ibrahim Zarewa, however attributed the orderliness and hitch free voting process to the extra efforts made by the Independent National Electoral Commission to right the irregularities witnessed during the March 28 polls.

According to Zarewa at a press briefing on Friday, INEC had ensured that all electoral materials both sensitive and non-sensitives arrived the wards and polling units ahead of the election to avoid cases of poll delay.

He said both Electoral Officers (EOs) and other adhoc staff were retrained and deployed on time to their various areas of primary assignment to curb the incidence of late arrival of materials and poll delay.

He said the Card Reader Machines (CRMs)  were duly reconfigured prior to their deployment to minimize cases of rejection of finger prints.

Despite the allegations and counter-allegations of plot to rig the election in favour of their candidates by the APC and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State, it is yet to be seen if any of the two dominant political parties would attempt to compromise the electoral process.
