A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, Monday disclosed that the party is currently engaging with two opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors.
Though he did not disclose the governors, he confirmed that a former Oyo State governor, Alhaji Rashidi Ladoja, would soon formally join the party.
Daily Trust reports that APC recently poached three governors of the PDP – David Umahi of Ebonyi, Ben Ayade of Cross River and Bello Mutawalle of Zamfara.
In an interview monitored on Arise TV yesterday, Ibrahim-Imam who was the PDP candidate in Borno for two terms before defecting to APC, boasted that more PDP governors would soon join the ruling party, saying the development is good for the country.
He also spoke on the agitation for Igbo presidency, saying while the South East is entitled to it; it would be difficult for the APC to cede its tickets to the region or the South South which are not currently APC strongholds.
But the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, said all the PDP governors who met last week in Abuja have confirmed that none of them would dump the party.
