Barr. Helen Boco Effiom, former Cross River Deputy Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Barr. Helen Boco Effiom has formally defected to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

While appreciating the defection, the chairperson of the independent grassroots campaign council for Atiku/Okowa 2023 of the PDP, Ambassador Dr. Fatima Mohammed Goni lauded the initiative of Effiom, who is also the campaign council’s Deputy National Chairman.

Goni assured the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar that they would together join hands with other supporters of the party to deliver him as the country’s next president come February 25, 2023.

Effiom was running mate to the former Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Dr Usani Uguru Usani in the 2019 governorship election and contested for the position of APC national women leader in the last party national convention held in Abuja.
