The Elders’ Forum of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abaji Area Council of the FCT has called for the review of the Supreme Court judgement which affirmed Abubakar Umar Abdullahi as the party’s candidate in the February 12, council election in the area.

Addressing a joint press conference in Abuja, on Monday, the chairman and secretary of the forum, Alhaji Ibrahim Attahiru Azza and Usman Baba respectively, said the forum expected the apex court to affirm Alhaji Mohammed Angulu Loko as the chairman-elect in the February 12, council election in Abaji.

He said the forums’ decision to call for a review of the judgment was because Alhaji Loko won the party’s primary held on April 23, 2021, and was issued with a result by INEC at the same venue.

According to him, the forum observed that what happened at the Supreme Court is clearly a miscarriage of justice, saying the judgement of the apex court defied the common principles of law and natural justice.

The supreme court had last Wednesday, affirmed Abubakar Umar Abdullahi as the candidate of the APC in Abaji after it set aside the rulings of the FCT High Court and Court of Appeal which affirmed Alhaji Mohammed Angulu Loko as the party’s chairmanship candidate for the February 12, 2022 council election.
