APC dismisses PDP’s allegations on election survey

Addressing a press conference at the party’s secretariat in Abuja yesterday, the interim national publicity secretary of the party, Lai Mohammed, said the ruling party is out of ideas and had exhausted all avenues to confront its failures and has now resorted to making wild allegations against the APC.
He said the survey taken by the party is not magic but a process accepted and used worldwide by governments, business interests and organisations to restrategise for sales in the case of business ventures or any other reason.
“Surveys are used all over the world to help organisations to strategise better. In case of political parties, surveys are used to determine the party’s areas of strength and weaknesses which will determine its spread and election winning chances,” he said.
He said the party has taken trouble to avail the public about the process and the result of its survey in order to make Nigerians have more confidence in democracy by introducing transparency measures which can easily be verified.
He added that the party took the step to do a credible survey as a departure from the way the PDP has “been deceiving Nigerians with fake figures and statistics for years.”
He said, “What matters in this case is the credibility of the company which undertook the survey. The company we employed is a well known credible Brussels based company whose clientele include notable international organizations.”
Mohammed added that the PDP failed to make its own findings public because the findings were not favourable to it. He said the PDP exercise was undertaken by a company owned by a serving minister which diminished the credibility of the company and the process adding that the PDP has been uncomfortable because the APC has changed the political landscape of the country and is threatening PDP’s hegemony.
