A section of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders have enjoined President Muhammadu Buhari to wade into the crisis rocking the party to ensure its stability in the party.

The group led by Alhaji Mohammed Usman in a statement Friday said the call was based on the need to ensure unity and cohesion among party stalwarts ahead of the 2023 general election.

The group argued that the country would achieve the desired growth and development being initiated by President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration if the APC emerges victorious in the 2023 general election.

“The president has done so well. You can point at the developmental strides achieved under this administration in every part of the country.

“We want more of this development but this can only happen if we have the APC in government after the exit of President Muhammadu Buhari,” the group noted.

The stakeholders threw their weight behind Senator Tanko Al-Makura for the chairmanship position of the APC ahead of the national convention of the party scheduled to hold on the 26th of this month.

“He is a true believer in the Buhari philosophy of growth and development. His loyalty to the president has never been in doubt right from the days of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

“Al-Makura is the ideal person that can lead the APC as we approach the election. He has the wherewithal to galvanize the support of all and sundry. He has paid his dues for the APC as it is only fair and just to cede the seat to him,” the group said.
