The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated two committees to visit the two crisis ridden states of Kogi and Bauchi.
The APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, inaugurated the fact-finding and reconciliation committees which have Prince Tony Momoh leading the team to Kogi and Senator Chris Ngige to Bauchi.
The committees are expected to submit their reports in two weeks.
Chief Odigie-Oyegun, who spoke during the inauguration at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, thanked the team for accepting the responsibility.
He said members of the committees were carefully selected, stating that the complex issues in Kogi needed the intervention of competent men and women because of the way Yahaya Bello emerged as governor.
“You have a very simple assignment which is fact finding and reconciliation without necessarily apportioning blames. Because I know that once the facts are established, it will be very simple to deal with,” he said.
In Bauchi, Governor Mohammed Abubakar and some members of the National Assembly are at loggerheads, a development that was threatening the 2015 success of the APC in the state.
