A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bernard Yisa, has urged the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to reward the people of Benue State handsomely for voting him overwhelmingly in the February 2023 elections.
In a chat with Daily Trust yesterday in Abuja, Yisa, who was a governorship aspirant in Benue appealed to Tinubu to fulfill his promise of ending insecurity and resettling Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in their ancestral homes, as well as investing in agriculture and giving appointments to indigenes of the state.
He said the leaders of the party in the state, including Dr. George Akume and the governor-elect, Rev. Dr. Hyacinth Alia, worked hard for the victory of the party in the state and they needed compensation for their people.
“We all worked very hard to deliver Benue State to the ruling APC and we ensured that the president-elect, Tinubu, emerged victorious. Sen. Akume and Rev. Dr. Alia, especially, convinced the people not to entertain any fears about voting Tinubu/Shettima because we want to connect Benue to the centre so that we can end insecurity, enhance agricultural production and bring prosperity to our people that have been impoverished,” he said.
