Lead Visioner of Lagos4Lagos movement, Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, aka JANDOR, has called on the Chairman of the national caretaker committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mai Mala Buni, to dissolve the Lagos state caretaker committee.

He accused the executives of high handedness and corruption, saying this has now become endemic in the party.

He also said the committee in the state mismanaged the primary election for the forthcoming local government election.

Speaking at a sensitization rally of his group in Lagos, Jandor declared that the APC caretaker committee under Alhaji Tunde Balogun had outlived its usefulness.

“The APC state committee should be dissolved. We need a new committee that will work for everyone, not listening to the dictate of one man.

“We have written to pass a vote of no confidence on the Tunde Balogun-led Caretaker committee because they mismanaged the APC primary election in the state,” he said.

Jandor, who said the Buni’s committee had right the wrongs under the previous Adams Oshiohmole-led NWC, urged him to do the needful and save Lagos APC from implosion and dissolve the state caretaker committee.

“They no longer represent the interest of our people. Instead, they have turned against their wishes and aspirations.

“Nearly all those who paid N2 million for chairmanship positions and 500k for councilorship, hopes and aspirations were dashed.

“At the end of the day, there was no credible primaries. It was imposition everywhere.”

‘Let’s work together’

Responding, the APC caretaker committee chairman, in a chat with Daily Trust, dismissed Jandor’s call, describing it as his own opinion.

He, however, advised Jandor and his team to come together and unite with the caretaker committee, saying, “I still regard them as members of this party, let’s work together.

“We have a good government in Lagos who is doing wonderfully well, making Lagos the envy of all.”

He said due process was followed in the conduct of primary election to select candidates for the July 24 LG polls.

He said: “He has expressed his own wish and opinion. We had elections here properly conducted. There were few hitches in some few local governments. It doesn’t make it invalid. We followed the guidelines of LASIEC to the letter.

“And a party like APC conducting elections that every participant realized the fact that any winner of such election is as good as the winner of the general election, people would struggle and do everything to get there, that was what happened.

“We had relatively good primary elections. That’s his own wish.”
