APC chieftain, Gen Aboki, buried in Abuja

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Ahmed Abdullahi Aboki, who died after a brief illness, has been buried at the Military Cemetery, Abuja.

The late General holds the traditional title of Ajiyan-Treasurer- of Keffi Emirate in Nasarawa State.

He was a military administrator of old Kwara State, communications minister during the regime of General Ibrahim Babangida and the Chairman of Asaa Pyramid Hotel, Kaduna.

After his military career, he joined partisan politics and was a member of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) and All Progressives Congress (APC).

General Aboki hailed from Keffi Local Government of Nasarawa State.

His funeral prayer was conducted at the National Mosque, Abuja, while his remains were buried at the Military Cemetery, Airport Road, Abuja.

In his condolence message, Governor Abdullahi Sule said, “The death of General Aboki has robbed our dear state and the nation of a fine gentleman, an astute businessman and seasoned politician who served his fatherland with undeniable patriotism.

“On behalf of the government and people of Nasarawa State I extend our deep sympathies and condolences to the immediate family, friends, colleagues and associates of the late General Ahmed Abdullahi Aboki.”

The Emir of Keffi, Dr Shehu Chindo Yamusa on behalf of the Emirate condoled with the people of Keffi, Nasarawa and Nigeria over the loss of “a Nation builder”.
