This was contained in a communique signed by the committee’s National Chairman, Chief Chukwunonso David Ezedinma, in Abuja on Friday.
The committee also called on other aspirants in the race to step down and embrace Al-Makura, a former two-term governor of Nasarawa State.
The forum said that, as one of the founding fathers of the APC, Al-Makura towers above every other contender for the chairmanship position.
The communique title, ‘Why his excellency and distinguished Senator Ajhaji Tanko Al-Makura should be a consensus candidate for the national chairmanship of the All Progressive Congress, APC’, partly read, “We believe strongly that Al-Makura is the only one who can unify all the interest groups in the APC and galvanise it towards success in the forthcoming elections.
“Our party needs a man with Al-Makura’s experience, networks, brinkmanship and pedigree to navigate the very delicate political climate that currently envelops the party.”
