Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa West Senatorial District, have endorsed Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura (APC, Nasarawa South) for the national chairmanship of the party.

The stakeholders said the endorsement was aimed at ensuring that Al-Makura gets the needed support to emerge victorious in the forthcoming national convention of the party slated for March 26, 2022.

The stakeholders endorsed Al-Makura when they paid him a solidarity visit in his office in Jabi, Abuja, Monday.

The delegation of Abdullahi Sule/Umaru Tanko Al-Makura from Nasarawa West, under the leadership of Engineer Wada Y. Mohammed, pledged their support towards the victory of Senator Al-Makura, as national chairman of APC.

Danjuma Joseph, Press Secretary to Senator Al-Makura, in a statement, said during the visit, the secretary of APC Diaspora, USA, Miss Talatu Bwai, presented two VW Sharon buses to Al-Makura’s campaign team.

On his part, s former minister of Information and Communications, Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande, appealed to Senator Al-Makura to include their members on his campaign team to support the movement.

Earlier, Al-Makura told the group that his aspiration to become national chairman was borne out of his desire to salvage the party by sustaining the merger arrangements.

Meanwhile, the Young Legislators’ Forum of the APC in the House of Representatives has endorsed a former Nasarawa State governor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, as the next chairman of the party.

The forum, led by its chairman, Rep. Kasimu Bello Maigari and deputy, Rep. Mariam Onuoha, said the former governor stood out with better credentials to lead the party to victory with his wealth of experience.

Speaking with newsmen yesterday after a closed-door meeting with the former governor, Rep Mariam Onuoha said Adamu’s credentials stand out among all those contesting the APC chairmanship.
