The Alliance of Northern Progressive Youths (ANPY) has drummed up support for Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to emerge as the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the March 26 national convention.
The director of gender and governance of the group, Amina Lawi Wakawa, at a press conference in Abuja on Friday said that with Al-Makura, the party would consolidate all the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The group admonished the leadership of the party to avoid the imposition of any candidate in the name of consensus or alleged presidential endorsement.
“We believe President Buhari is a man of integrity who respects the provision of law and national interest and will not impose or support any candidate in the party.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) as the ruling party must ensure internal democracy, with a view to deepening democratic culture in the country,’’ Wakawa said.
