The All Progressives Congress (APC) Broom Platform has appointed Gov. Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa as its National Patron to drum grassroots support for the party.
Dr Tom Ohikere, the National Coordinator of the platform, announced this on the sideline of the maiden nationwide Media Tour of the organization to Jigawa when they paid a courtesy visit on the governor in Dutse on Thursday.
Ohikere described the organisation as a Grade A support group of APC and is also an affiliate of the Buhari Support Organisation ((BSO).
He stated that the appointment of Badaru as patron of APC Broom Platform was in recognition of his determination in nation building and the promotion of APC government at all times.
The coordinator said that the platform was determined to communicate the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari’s via various media channels and the APC administration at all levels.
“We are harping on the principles of accountability and transparency which is the cardinal principles this administration.”
The group said that it is working round the clock to also ensure the re- election of Buhari in 2019 to enable him continue with the good work of re-positioning the country for the good of the masses.
“It is our fervent believe that if Buhari is given another term, he will be able to revive the battered economy by the past government and place it on a strong pedesta.
Responding, Badaru thanked members of the organization for finding him worthy for the appointment and pledged to always make transparency and accountability the watch words of his administration.
Represented by Alhaji Ibrahim Hadejia, the Deputy Governor, Badaru also promised that he would never relent in his contributions to nation building, promoting the ideals and objectives of APC administration in the state and the country at large.
He also commended the group for appreciating him and the lofty achievements of Buhari, saying: “If one did not blow his trumpet, nobody will blow it for him”.
