Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, said Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu “consulted far and wide” before arriving at the decision to repeal the public officers’ pension law which it described as “for our collective good.
Spokesman of the APC Seye Oladejo condemned what he called “widely circulated falsehood about the purported truth behind the proposed repeal of the pension law in Lagos State as they affect past governors and their deputies.”
In a statement, the party noted that the move, which has been widely applauded by a cross-section of well-meaning people, actually jolted the enemies of progress.
Sanwo-Olu had made a move to repeal the law which has also been supported by the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who is also an ex-governor of the state.
He insisted that the governor was explicit about it that “it was a move to cut the cost of governance and show sincere political will to re-order the priorities of government in the face of current realities.”
