Osinbajo spoke in Lagos shortly after unveiling a 50-metre banner, a specimen of what the youth wing of the party produced to be displayed by over 300 campaigners in major cities across the country.
Osinbajo said: “In the APC, we are ready for the general elections. Nigerians are eager to see a change of government at the presidency. Nigerians are tired of the PDP government at the centre”.
According to him, the ruling party is the one having problems with the elections. Admitting that there are security challenges in the North East, he argued that such should not have caused the polls shift.
“We have always been ready for the elections. The insecurity issue raised by the security chiefs does not hold water. We all witnessed it when elections took place in Afghanistan and Syria where there were war situations. Nothing should stop the elections in the first instance, particularly where INEC had told the world that it was ready. The APC is ready, I am ready for the elections,” he said.
