The atmosphere is thick but before the end of today it might be cleared on who finally pick the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi state among the 9 contestants.
But luck would automatically fall in favour of those aspirants from the southern zone where the party allegedly zoned it to.
However, there are fears over the whereabout of the delegates who are yet to be spotted at the Peoples Club along the Abakaliki-Enugu Highway, venue of the guber primaries.
A source told Daily Trust that Sen. Sonni Ogbuoji had allegedly hijacked the delegates since Wednesday evening.
This came barely four days ago when Dr. Paul Okorie, a guber aspirant in the race, had warned delegates not to mortgage the future of the state for sake of peanut from any contestants but to vote wisely.
Battle for Ebonyi APC gubernatorial ticket has put the leadership of party and its stakeholders and the public in state of dilemma and uncertainty as the 9 contestants are ready to face the primaries.
At the moment, Sen. Ogbuoji seems to have gotten the upper hand against other contestants as many within the party block felt that the billionaire politician has harboured the delegates in an unknown hotel in his favour.
The exercise according to the Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Chike Nwoba would start at about 8:30am.
At the venue, voting is yet to start as presumed by the party but there are present of armed security operatives in the centre with few party members and INEC officials, observers, and members of the organising committee already awaiting for the exercise to commerce.
The state party Chairman, Hon. Nwachukwu Eze and members of executive including stakeholders are yet to arrive the venue.
