There is tension among commissioners in Niger State as the state governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, is set to reshuffle his cabinet.
It was gathered that the governor, who is being expected to return to the state this week from a foreign trip has completed arrangement to rejig his cabinet.

Our correspondent reports that commissioners and special advisers are lobbying traditional rulers and key political actors in the state to convince the governor to drop the idea.
The move to reshuffle the cabinet, according to sources, was due to poor performances of some of the cabinet members.
Recalled that shortly before the 2019 general elections, the governor dropped five of the commissioners.
Ahead of the cabinet rejig, the governor had recently ordered the Head of Service, Hajiya Salamatu T. Abubakar to redeploy some permanent secretaries. Daily Trust reports that the head of service had since redeployed some of the permanent secretaries via a letter dated February 1, 2022 with reference number HoS/NS/044/T.
