Residents told our correspondent that a gang of cultists had invaded the community in an unmarked Toyota Corolla car, shooting sporadically before they went for the target. A gory picture of Ifeoluwa which has been circulating on the social media showed his lifeless body in the pool of blood with his head badly damaged.

A resident, who pleaded anonymity, said, “Some boys came into the community with a Toyota Corolla and opened fire on the victim while he was breaking his fast with his friends. The incident happened at 8:30 pm on Sunday.

“Tension has engulfed the community as many residents have started leaving the area in fear of a reprisal attack.

“There is going to be a serious fight in Abeokuta and other areas of the state because that man killed was a popular Eiye member and a known political thug.

“There will be reprisal attacks from his gang members, but we are speaking to the police to step up security in Abeokuta and its environs.” Police spokesman, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the killing to our correspondent.

Odutola said, “One Olumide Danish Ifeloluwa ‘Tescom’ was shot in the head by unidentified gunmen in an unmarked ash coloured Corolla at Somefun Ijeun Tuntun, on Sunday at 19:55hrs.”
