He said that the success of the bureau depends on the ability of its staff to do the right things at the right time, according to the rules and regulations binding it.

“For the bureau to excel in discharging its statutory mandate, it must ensure that all its activities are carried out in the light of the provisions of all its extant laws and all other relevant legal documents tailored towards guiding its day-to-day activities.

“If this can be achieved, then the bureau will be ranked as one of the best anti-corruption agencies across the globe. This is putting into consideration the comprehensive nature of the legal regime we have on ground,” Isah said.

On his part, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami, represented by the Director-General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mr Kashifu Abdullahi, said that digital transformation in the fight against corruption in the country would go a long way in curbing it.

He said, “If you digitise government processes, nobody will have monopoly of what to do and nobody will do things based on his or her discretion because the process would be automated. Everything is automated, simple, open and it is citizen-centric, so this is going to democratise government service delivery whereby it will ensure accountability.”

Also, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) represented by the Special Assistant to Mr. President on Justice Reform and International Relation, Mrs. Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu, noted the challenges in fighting corruption.

He however said that despite the difficulties, President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to winning the anti-corruption war.
