Another ward exco suspends Zamfara chairman

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is enmeshed in a fresh crisis as its state chairman, Tukur Danfulani, has been suspended.

Tukur was suspended in a letter dated May 11, 2024, signed by the vice chairman of the Galadima Ward in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Alhaji Ga Bello, and 15 others and addressed to the APC national chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Daily Trust reports that Danfulani’s ward executive submitted the letter to Ganduje on Wednesday at the APC national secretariat in Abuja.

The letter titled ‘Suspension of Hon. Tukur Danfulani’ reads in part, “The executive members of the APC Galadima Ward of Gusau Local Government Area, Zamfara State, wish to inform you that, after due consultation with stakeholders and a series of meetings, we have concluded to suspend the state party chairman, Hon. Tukur Danfulani.

“The reasons behind his suspension include a lack of attention to party activities at the ward level, causing disunity among party members across all levels of the state, misplacement of duties and responsibilities, politics of segregation between party members, among numerous other issues.

“In view of this, 16 out of 27 ward executives have signed for the suspension, and that remains our stand.

“We are therefore calling on the APC national headquarters to send a caretaker chairman who will lead the affairs of the party before the next convention.”
