The paramount ruler of Ankpa (Ejeh of Ankpa) in Ankpa local government area of Kogi state, Alhaji Amodu Yakubu, has died at the age of 79.
Confirming the death to Daily Trust, the Onu Ankpa, Chief Abdulmalik Umar, said the royal father passed on at about 2.20 am, in the early hours of yesterday.
Umar, who expressed shock over the demise of the paramount ruler, said the late Eje had just returned from Benin hale and hearty the day before where he attended a conference.
The late paramount ruler has been buried according to Islamic rites.
Meanwhile, Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has in a statement condoled with the family of the late monarch.
