With 16 nominations, including Best Overall Movie, Best Yoruba Movie, Best Actress for Bimbo Ademoye, Best Supporting Actress for Sola Sobowale, and Best Supporting Actor for Taiwo Hassan and Yinka Quadri, Kunle Afolayan’s Netflix Original, Anikulapo, emerged as the night’s top contender.
Afolayan received a nomination for Best Director, however, Kunle Remi, who plays the movie’s title character, was left out.
