Angry youths who besieged the scene of the accident immediately set the truck loaded with drinks ablaze.
A witness said the bus bus driver was on top speed and in the process rammed into a stationary truck, killing two persons on the spot.
He said the accident caused gridlock for several hours on the ever busy highway, forcing motorists to take alternative routes.
When contacted, Edo State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Henry Benamaisia, confirmed the accident and cautioned drivers against over speeding, dangerous driving, indiscriminate parking and other forms of traffic violations.
He advised motorists in the state to imbibe safe driving practices and discipline while using the road.
Benamaisia assured motorists of the Corps’ continuous effort to reduce accident on the road to the barest minimum.
He, however, advised the public not to take laws into their hands.
