Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida GCFR, has described the late former works minister, Tony Anenih as a charismatic leader with unique passion of providing solutions in governance of the country.
Anenih, who was also a former chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) died on Sunday evening at Cedar-crest Hospital, Abuja at the age of 85.
In a tribute on the death of octogenarian signed by his Media Office Monday in Minna, General Babangida said the demise of Chief Tony Anenih, was a big loss to the country, especially coming at this crucial time of electioneering campaign.
“Indeed Nigeria and Nigerians, will greatly missed a political master strategist in the next political dispensation” General Babangida said.
IBB noted that the contribution of the late former minister of works and housing to the Nigeria democracy, especially during the fourth republic was immeasurable, adding that Anenih always played a stabilizing role at the most auspicious moments.
The former leader also eulogized the late Anenih for exhibiting high level of professionalism in the police force, adding that he served the nation with devotion and diligence in his chosen profession.
General Babangida commiserate with the family of late Anenih, Oba of Benin, government and people of Edo state as well as the entire members of the PDP for the loss.
