Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the appointment of Malam Anas Bamusa as the General Manager of Gombe United Football Club.
A statement by his spokesman, Ismaila Uba Misilli, said the governor approved the reorganisation of Gombe United FC with a new leadership, to align with the government’s objective of repositioning the football club for better performance and improving the management of sports in the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi who conveyed the Governor Yahaya’s approval, announced the new management of Gombe United FC as follows; Malam Anas Bamusa (General Manager), Mr Ishaya Usman (Team Manager) and Comrade Abubakar M. Maina (Dameji) as Secretary.
The statement added that Governor Yahaya expects the new appointees to bring innovative ideas and leadership, as well as work in synergy with stakeholders to support the government’s agenda in the sports sector.

According to Prof. Njodi all the appointments are with immediate effect.
Anas Bamusa, 44, is a graduate of Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Maiduguri and has a Masters in Public Administration from the Gombe State University (GSU).
Bamusa is also a sports analyst with several local, national and international radio and television stations.
