The operatives of Anambra State Police Command have killed two gunmen in Nkpor, Idemili Local Government Area of the state.
It was learnt that the operatives while on patrol along Obosi Nkpor Road were accosted by the gang in white Toyota Hiace bus, red Toyota Corolla and a motorcycle.

The police spokesman in the state, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, in a statement said when operatives engaged the armed men in a gun battle, killed two of them and recovered one pump action, one locally fabricated pistol and a red Toyota Corolla with registration number AKD 303 DW.
He said some of the hoodlums fled in a Toyota Hiace bus and a motorcycle.
He added that the police had intensified patrol in the area and improved operations to respond to distress calls.
In another development, the operatives on patrol along Central School Road, Umusiomen Nkpor, Ogidi, recovered a white Mercedes Benz 350 with reg. no: RSH 836 BE suspected to have been abandoned by criminals.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, has charged the operatives to sustain the tempo on the fight against violent crimes in the state.
