Anambra police arrest 3 armed robbery suspects

Anambra State Police operatives attached to Isiowulu Division in conjunction with local community vigilante had arrested three armed robbery suspects at Nkpor in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state

They were arrested on the 22/1/2021 at about 4:30pm following a distress call by one of the residents.

The suspects are Chukwuebuka Oguejiofor aged 21 years from Umueshi Abogwu, Ideato North local government area of Imo State, Joel Dickson aged 20 years, from Itu Ikpe, Ikot Ekpene local government area of Akwa Ibom State and Uchenna Uzoechi aged 19 years, resident of 19 Aririonwu Street, Okpoko, Anambra and a native of Aguobu Owa, Ezeagu local government area of Enugu State.

Suspects allegedly attacked, robbed and injured a middle aged man at NO.16 Frank Nolly Street Nkpor and proceeded to Limca road Odume and attacked and robbed five other persons.

According to a statement by the image maker of the command, CSP Haruna Mohammed and made available to journalists in Awka on Sunday, the Police arrested the suspects when the police received call about their operations.

He said after arrest exhibits recovered in their possessions include two cutlasses, five handsets and one yellow tricycle with REG NO.WER 961 WJ used in perpetrating the criminal act.

He said the Commissioner of Police Anambra State CP John B. Abang has directed that the case be transferred to the State CID Awka for discreet investigation.

The CP reassured the public that the Command under his watch would continue to pursue the criminals from all nooks and crannies in the state until they repent or relocate from the State.
