President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday received the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Nkem Okeke, who left the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) last week.
Okeke was presented to the president at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, by the APC caretaker chairman and Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, in company of Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.
Meanwhile, APC in the state has expressed joy over the defection of the deputy governor.
In a statement by the Director, Media and Publicity, Senator Andy Uba Governorship Campaign Organisation, Victor Afam Ogene, described it as a welcome development.
Reacting, the state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment Mr.C.Don Adinuba, described the defection of the deputy governor as unconstitutional. He said that if the deputy governor was uncomfortable with the party he should have resigned his position.
