Anambra governor leads protest against IPOB

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State on Monday led a protest against the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Obiano led the protest in Awka, the state capital, after traders refused to engage in economic activities.

Daily Trust had reported how economic activities were crippled across the state as a result of the sit-at-home order of the outlawed group.

All the banks in along the Onitsha-Enugu expressway in Awka, locked their gates against customers, while transporters withdrew their vehicles in various parks in the state capital.

Though the popular Eke-Awka market was open, traders refused to open their shops for business.

Our reporter, who visited the market, discovered that the gates were opened but the traders were nowhere to be found.

However, after the governor’s intervention, some of the traders opened up their stores.

Commercial activities were disrupted across the South East on Monday.

In Imo, armed men broke into a school and chased away students who were sitting for an exam.
