Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Encheng Echeng, has called for a synergy between the police and journalists.

The commissioner made the call on Wednesday when the executive members of Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of journalists (NUJ) Anambra chapter paid him a courtly visit at his office in Amawabia, Awka south.

He said the police and journalists are partners in the fight against crimes and other ills of the society.

The commissioner also stated that the police need the press to be able combat crime for the betterment of the society.

He said while the police were asking the press to close their eyes to their ills, they should report objectively for the good of the state.

Earlier , the chairman of Correspondents’ Chapel, Chief Chuks Ilozue, commended the commissioner for bringing calm in the state since he assumed office.

He said the commissioner has achieved much since he assumed the office, assuring that the chapel would partner the police command to entrench peace in the state.
