World Record run by Nigerian sprinter Tobi Amusan in the 2022 World Championships in Oregon has been included on a list of the best World Championships moments in athletics.

Amusan set a new World Record in the semifinals of the women’s 100m Hurdles with a time of 12.12 seconds. Later that evening, she won the final with a marginally wind-assisted 12.06s, proving her world record was no fluke.

Amusan became Nigeria’s first outdoor World champion and World Record holder in the process. Her performance in Oregon is now considered to be one of the best in World Championships history.

Other Oregon-related moments included are Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone breaking the 400m Hurdles World Record with a strong effort of 50.68 seconds.
