The Oyo State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun Corps, has arrested ten suspected armed robbers and hoodlums across the state.

The corps commandant in the state, Col. Olayinka Olayanju (rtd), disclosed this to Daily Trust yesterday in Ibadan.

Olayanju said the ten suspects were handed over to the police.

He gave the suspects names as; Ibrahim Kamal, Samsideen Jelili, Hakeem Ayinde, Salam Ojo, Nabim Sani, Abati Isaac, and Abubakar Muhammed.

Also arrested were Yakubu Fulani, Elijah Ajala and Sunday Emmanuel.

“l activated all the Amotekun Corps to patrol all the City of Oyo on January 1st.

“This is necessary because hoodlums always block the roads on festive period sextorting money from people. I led the Oyo West Team and these hoodlums were arrested and handed over to the Police at Ojongbodu Division,” he said.

He said of the ten suspects, three were caught with  weapons in Ibadan North West, while trying to rob in Sabo area, Ibadan.

“We handed them over to police at Mokola Police Station.

“We also handed over N60,000 cash recovered from Yakubu Fulani to Mr kunle Olaoye, a farmer on January, for the settlement of the crop destroyed by their cattle in Kajola, village.

“A suspect was also arrested in Aba- Ibeji, Odo-Ona kekere, Arapaja, New garage, Ibadan. This Suspect was apprehended for robbery.  While he was arrested, the other escaped.

“Another suspect, Sunday Emmanuel was also arrested and handed over to Police at Orita police station. He was arrested with 1 small generator. Also, Elijah Ajala was arrested and handed over to  Police at  Sanyo Police Station.” he added.

The commandant therefore advised hoodlums and robbers to leave the state in their own interest.
