The Commandant of the corps, Brigadier General Joe Komolafe (Rtd), said one of the suspects, Adeniyi Oluwafeni, ambushed the victim on her way to church and attempted to slaughter her but that luck ran out against him as the girl raised alarm while struggling with him which attracted residents who apprehended him.

While noting that the girl sustained serious injuries on her right hand, Komolafe said that during interrogation the suspect confessed that he wanted to use the girl for money ritual.

He further said that Oluwafeni’s accomplice, a herbalist, Abdulazeez Ogunsakin, who he noted was an uncle to Oluwafeni, gave him the contract to get human flesh for him for the money ritual.
