Ogun state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Wednesday approved the appointment of the Permanent Secretary and Clerk of the State House of Assembly, Olanrewaju Bisiriyu, as the new Head of Service.

The Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, who made the announcement in a statement in Abeokuta, said the appointment takes immediate effect.

Bisiriyu, a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), joined the state’s civil service as a Pupil Engineer, with the state Water Corporation in August, 1985.

He rose through the ranks and was appointed Permanent Secretary in January, 2012.

The 59 year old new Head of Service holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ibadan in 1984 and later obtained Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the then University of Ado-Ekiti, now Ekiti State University in 2001.

Bisiriyu, a certified Engineer of the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), attended several technical and management conferences, workshops, trainings and seminars in Nigeria and abroad.
