This was made known by Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura who disclosed to the media that plans have reached advanced stage for the national competition to kick-off.

In his acceptance speech, Amokachi said the tournament was to support Tinubu’s presidential bid while discovering new talents.

“I have planned with FIFA/CAF Technical Instructor, Mohammed Ameenu amongst other stakeholders to organise the football fiesta tagged, “Unity Cup” with the main aim to support Tinubu/Shettima and to fish-out young and grassroots talents towards taking Nigeria to stardom and to play professional Internationally,” he said.
