A former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, says granting amnesty to bandits would encourage more people to take to crime.
He stated this on Monday in Abuja at the public presentation of a book titled: “Made in Aba” written by Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.

Obi, who is also a former vice presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, said it was unacceptable to pay people for going into crime.
He said instead of giving amnesty to bandits and paying ransom to free captives, the Federal Government should reward hard work and support small businesses.
He also urged the federal government to fight poverty first if it is really serious to address insecurity.
