According to a police spokesman, Capt. Kelly Muniz, a suspect wielded a gun inside the restaurant and requested the rapper’s jewellery, in the process, the rapper was shot by the assailant.

She said; “He shot the victim and ran out the side door to a getaway car and then fled the parking lot.”

The victim was also reported to be taken to a hospital and pronounced dead at 1:59 p.m.

Meanwhile, two weeks ago PNB Rock in an interview voiced out about the increase in robbery attempts in Los Angeles and how rappers like him are being seen as prey for robbers.

This is not the first time American rappers have been murdered during robbery operations by their attackers.

In  2018, Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, known professionally as XXXTentacion was shot dead at a car dealership in Florida by armed robbers after he had refused to cooperate with them; in 2020, Dayvon Daquan Bennett, known professionally as King Von was also shot dead in Georgia.

Also in 2020, Bashar Barakah Jackson, known professionally as Pop Smoke was gunned down in Hollywood hills California after he had revealed his location online. These American rappers are known to be close friends and business associates.

Furthermore, Trinidadian-born female superstar rapper, Nicki Minaj, poured out her mind over the careless act of the victim’s girlfriend, paying her condolences to PNB Rock’s mom and family members.

She tweeted; “After Pop Smoke, there’s no way we as rappers or our loved ones are still posting locations… He was such a pleasure to work with. Condolences to his mom & family”
