The management of Alliance Francaise De Kano has re-opened its Kano office after two years of closure of activities in the centre.
Inaugurating the office, the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Jerome Pasquier said, Kano state had been an important business and social centre with reach traditional heritage, adding that such features had been the main reason why the French embassy in Nigeria deems it necessary to complement the effort of the committee of Alliance Francaise by reviving the Kano office.
“Kano is a very important state to us, that is why we decided to complement the efforts of Kano committee of Alliance Francaise in ensuring that the office comes to life again,” he said.
Similarly, the director of Alliance Francaise De Kano, Ali Dabo stated that the office was off service for over two years due to issues related to security challenges.
Dabo said a new guide line had been adopted that would ensure smooth operation of the Kano office which he said would serve as a learning centre as well as a mentoring avenue for French teachers.
“Our activities will now be guided based on the new guidelines stipulated for the running of the centre. We will concentrate more on the educational sector as many people have indicated their interest in learning the French language,” the director said.
