Alleged N9.4bn fraud: Court threatens arrest warrant against Stella Oduah, others

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday threatened to issue a bench warrant for the arrest and arraignment of a former Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, over alleged financial impropriety.

Justice Inyang Ekwo ordered Oduah to make herself available before the court on October 19 for arraignment over alleged misappropriation of N9.4bn by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The court’s order was made after the prosecuting counsel, Hassan Liman, informed the court that the defendants had been served as directed by the court, but the former minister was not in court without excuse.

He said 32 witnesses had been lined up to testify in the matter against the nine defendants in the matter now been fixed for October 19.

Oduah was charged alongside eight others over alleged misappropriation worth N9.4bn.

Listed along with Oduah, as defendants, were Gloria Odita, Nwosu Emmanuel Nnamdi, Chukwuma Irene Chinyere, Global Offshore and Marine Ltd, Tip Top Global Resources Ltd, Crystal Television Ltd, Sobora International Ltd and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Nigeria Ltd.
