Former Deputy National President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Isah Tijjani has faulted the processes and the proceedings being adopted in the ongoing investigations into Kano state Governor’s bribery allegations video, adding that such processes are misrepresentation of normal procedure.
Comrade Tijjani stated this while addressing newsmen in Kano on the alleged bribery video, according to him security agencies are in a better position to ascertain whether its genuine or not.
“This is a very sensitive issue that needs not to be rushed; it is an issue that needs all procedures to be followed so as to arrive at a conclusion that wouldn’t smear the good image of Nigerian democracy. The allegation can only be decided by the house investigation committee after the conduct of a thorough investigation by security agencies that will give rise to a report upon which the house will act on,” said the comrade.
Video clips released by the Daily Nigeria newspaper had shown Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state allegedly receiving bribe from a contractor.
It would be recalled that Kano State House of Assembly has set up a seven-man committee headed by Honourable Baffa Babba DanAgundi to investigate the authenticity or otherwise of the video clips.
