The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Chief Ali Odefa as chairman of the reconstituted South-east Zonal Caretaker Committee of the party.
The NWC also named Laz Ogbei as auditor of the zonal caretaker committee of the party.

The opposition party, in a statement on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the action of the NWC was pursuant to sections 29 (2)(b) and 31(2)(e) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended).
The committee, according to the party, would pilot the affairs of the party in the South-east zone for a period not exceeding three months as prescribed by Section 32(2)(e) of the PDP Constitution.
