The newly appointed Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), Dr Ali Nuhu, has promised to revamp the Nigerian film industry to make it viable for accelerated growth of the Nigerian economy.
Speaking Wednesday in Jos, the Plateau State capital, at the handing over ceremony where he officially assumed office as the seventh MD of the corporation, he said he would work with utmost commitment, vigour and determination.
He said he was determined to use his vast experience to further shape the vibrant tapestry of the Nigerian film industry, adding that the expectations of the federal government, film and other stakeholders and the good people of Nigeria on the role of the agency cannot be overemphasised.
The managing director said the task of harnessing the potentials of Nigeria’s creative sector, especially filmmaking, and advancing the objectives and policies of the federal government in promoting national growth will be driven by the NFC’s service charter of “powering possibilities”.
