Ali Nuhu commits to film industry

Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) Ali Nuhu has promised to improve the Nigerian film industry to help the country’s economy grow faster.

Speaking at the official handover ceremony in Jos, where he took over as the seventh MD of the corporation, he assured the audience of his commitment to working diligently.

He expressed his strong dedication to using his vast experience to further develop the diverse Nigerian film industry. He emphasised the high expectations placed on the agency by the federal government, filmmakers, stakeholders, and the Nigerian people, highlighting its crucial role.

Nuhu emphasised that the NFC’s service charter, centred around ‘powering possibilities,’ will drive the exploration of Nigeria’s creative sector, particularly in filmmaking, and support the government’s efforts to promote national growth.

“I will lead the creation of film production infrastructure to stimulate growth and ensure the industry remains competitive.

“I will raise the profile of Nigerian films both at home and abroad.

“I plan to forge strategic partnerships with both the public and private sectors, as well as international stakeholders, to encourage innovation, attract investment, and facilitate co-production,” he stated.
