A joint operation by the police and the famous thief catcher, Ali Kwara, has resulted in the rescue of three kidnapped children and the killing of three armed robbers in Adamawa State.
The police spokesman, DSP Othman Abubakar, yesterday displayed arms including eight AK 47 rifles, one RPG, 477 rounds of ammunitions and cash seized  from the slain robbers after a shootout with the police in Mayo-Belwa area.
Abubakar also handed over the N500,000 earlier paid as ransom to the father of  three brothers who were rescued from the kidnappers’ den in Mulang, Song Local Government Area‎ while the kidnappers were arrested.
Speaking to journalists after receiving the money, Alhaji Grema Degereji commended Ali Kwara and the police for rescuing his children, saying the kidnappers had demanded N2 million but the family could only raise N500,000.
In his remarks, Ali Kwara noted that the so-called repentant thieves who join vigilantes groups were usually behind criminal activities.
“The person behind this kidnap is a so called repentant armed robber who hides under the cloak of vigilante to continue to perpetrate crime.ý I have been making attempts over the years to catch up with him but he dubiously hides under the toga of the so called vigilante group to be pointing targets to criminal gangs,” he said.
