He said the gifts were part of his ways of saying thank you to his constituents for having voted for him six times.
“I am here to thank you my people who have successively voted for me six times since 1992.
“I want to express my special thanks to you. We have come to empower 2000 women and youth as we have always done every 35 – 40 days in this constituency.
“We are going to distribute N70m, four trailers of fertilizer, 31 assorted cars, 500 electrical sewing machines, 500 manual swing machines and 500 motor cycles” he said.
The constituents thanked the lawmaker for the N70million brought to the podium in sacks after one of the guests at the event, Murtala Sule Garo, the state’s commissioner for local government affairs, told him he hoped the N70million was not promissory.
