The management of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Udufu-Alike in Ikwo local government of Ebonyi State said it has expelled about 400 students in just one year.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof Chinedum Nwajiuba told Daily Trust in an interview at the university campus that those affected failed to secure the required grade set by the management of the university after examinations.
“It is an academic institution where examinations are properly set, scripts are property marked, lecturers’ grades are scrutinised and if your GP is not enough, you will not be qualified to be in the institution.
“So getting grades here is not so common, you have to read hard to earn it, just last year we expel 400 hundred students. It is not a joke; it is a university by world class standard,” he said.
