“I will join Estoril in July after I signed a four-year contract with them,” disclosed Alampasu, who clocked 18 in December.
“It was not easy to get a contract as I have had trials in Belgium and Spain. I was close to joining Sporting Braga (in Portugal) after passing a medical test only for them to get back to me to say they do not have the money to sign me.
“Estoril came to my rescue only after I gave up on things like signing-on fees and all that.
“I believe this will be my stepping stone in Europe.”
Alampasu played a key role as Nigeria won a record fourth FIFA U17 World Cup two years ago.
He is currently with the Nigeria U-20 team ahead of the African Youth Championship, which will begin in Senegal next month.
